I am a big fan of kung fu movies, especially those created by the Shaw Brothers film studio out of Hong Kong. One film, in particular, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, I hold in particularly high regard. When I first saw the film, I was mesmerized not only with the story of self-discipline and determination but also with the idea of an imaginary monastery where one could come to learn from the best in hopes of becoming the best. I did not realize at the time that there really is a Shaolin Temple, located in Dengfeng County, Henan Province, China.
